{"id":893,"date":"2018-01-17T18:02:51","date_gmt":"2018-01-17T09:02:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chat-messenger.com\/?p=893"},"modified":"2020-02-18T00:07:41","modified_gmt":"2020-02-17T15:07:41","slug":"backup_settings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chat-messenger.com\/en\/manual\/etc\/backup_settings","title":{"rendered":"Backup Settings"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\"common_title\"><a name=\"backup\">Backup Overview<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>On the backup settings screen, you can back up various Chat&amp;Messenger data.<br \/>\nThere are two methods for backing up: automatic backup and one-time manual backup.<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div style=\"padding: 15px;\">\n<a rel=\"lightbox\" href=\"https:\/\/chat-messenger.com\/images\/backup_config.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><br \/>\n<img src=\"https:\/\/chat-messenger.com\/images\/backup_configs.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"1\" width=\"135\" height=\"149\"><\/a>\n<\/div>\n<p>The backup settings screen can be opened from the \"Settings\" menu =&gt; \"Backup Settings\".<br \/>\n*Various data includes the following<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Various configuration files under config directory<\/li>\n<li>Sticky notes, calendars, and other data<\/li>\n<li>Messenger and other log files<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To avoid data loss due to human error, file corruption, disk failure, forced software termination, etc.<br \/>\nWe recommend that business users back up their various data.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"common_title\"><a name=\"backup\">Backup Method<\/a><\/h2>\n<h3><a name=\"select\">Selecting what to back up<\/a><\/h3>\n<div style=\"padding: 15px;\">\n<img src=\"https:\/\/chat-messenger.com\/images\/backup_contents.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"1\">\n<\/div>\n<p>You can select the following items to be backed up<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\"Configuration files and data such as stickies, calendars, etc.\"<br \/>\nVarious files in the following locations are subject to backup<br \/>\n<i>Chat&amp;MessengerInstrumentalConfig<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Various Chat&amp;Messenger setting files, stickies, calendars, and other data are stored in the above locations.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>Log files of messengers, chats, etc.\"<br \/>\nBy default, the various log files in the following locations are the target of backups.<br \/>\n<i>Chat&amp;Messenger Insutorlogs<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Log files of messengers, chats, etc. are stored in the above location.<\/p>\n<p>*&quot;Settings&quot; menu \u21d2 &quot;Application environment settings&quot; \u21d2 &quot;Log settings&quot; \u21d2 &quot;Log output destination&quot;<br \/>\nIf you have changed it, the changed destination will be affected.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><a name=\"dir\">Specify backup destination folder and encryption password<\/a><\/h3>\n<div style=\"padding: 15px;\">\n<img src=\"https:\/\/chat-messenger.com\/images\/backup_dir_select.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"1\">\n<\/div>\n<p>This is the setting of where the backup files will be stored.<br \/>\nA folder for the user ID is created under the set folder and stored in the history until the storage period.<br \/>\nThe file will be compressed with zip.<\/p>\n<div style=\"padding: 15px;\">\n<img src=\"https:\/\/chat-messenger.com\/images\/backup_dir.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"1\">\n<\/div>\n<p>*This location should be different from the installation location.<\/p>\n<p>Password encryption and backup are available. In case of disk failure or PC failure, backup is possible with password encryption to a network drive.<\/p>\n<div style=\"padding: 15px;\">\n<a rel=\"lightbox\" href=\"https:\/\/chat-messenger.com\/images\/doc_share_backup.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><br \/>\n<img src=\"https:\/\/chat-messenger.com\/images\/doc_share_backups.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\" width=\"149\" height=\"92\"><\/a>\n<\/div>\n<h3><a name=\"history\">Set storage period<\/a><\/h3>\n<div style=\"padding: 15px;\">\n<img src=\"https:\/\/chat-messenger.com\/images\/backup_history.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"1\">\n<\/div>\n<p>This is the setting for how many days the backed up files will be kept.
